Chicago. A portrait studio that shows up to your party.
We build a real portrait studio inside your wedding. Your guests step in for two minutes and walk out holding a print they will keep. Yes, even your uncle.
One clean light, a real backdrop, and someone behind the camera whose whole job is making a stranger look good in ninety seconds.
Cocktail hour
Two minutes each. Nobody has to know what to do with their hands. That is the job, and we have done it about a thousand times.
Minutes later
On real photo paper, on site, out of sight. No app, no QR code, no waiting three weeks for a gallery.
During dinner
Every portrait goes up on a lit rail as the room sits down. People get up mid course to go find themselves and each other.
On the way out
Guests take their own print home at the end of the night. You get the whole set afterward, in one gallery.
Nobody has ever framed a photo booth strip.
Most parties hand guests a camera and a box of props and hope for the best. The results look like what they are. This is the opposite, and you get all of it afterward, every guest, in one gallery.A line forms. It is usually longer than the one at the bar.
We build and keep our own. Each one gets a name, because you are choosing the room your guests get photographed in, not renting a grey sheet.
No. 1, Ivory
Hand hung cotton canvas, warm white, lit with a single five foot source. The one in most of these pictures.
No. 2
In the works. The collection grows every season.
Built for you
We will build one to match your palette, your florals or a brand, for the event and nobody else. Add on at booking.
Your team gets professional portraits without anyone having to book a headshot day. Your sponsors get their logo on something people take home instead of throw away.
And you get a folder of real photographs of your people, taken on a night when they were happy to be there. Holiday parties, galas, conferences, product launches, member events.
I have spent ten years photographing weddings, in Chicago and in Miami, Mexico, Portland and Denver. Before that I ran a portrait studio for three years, which is where I learned that the hard part is never the lighting. It is getting someone who has decided they photograph badly to forget the camera is there for about four seconds.
Bounce Light Studio came out of noticing the same thing at every wedding I shot. The couple ends up with hundreds of photographs. Family formals cover a dozen more. Everybody else rearranged their lives to be in that room, and most of them go home without a single frame of their own.
So we bring the studio to them. One light, one backdrop, and somebody who will tell you exactly where to put your chin.
I still shoot weddings. This is the other half of the same idea.
Three hours, a print for every guest, and the full gallery afterward. Longer coverage, custom print design and a second shooter are available. Fridays and Sundays are 15 percent less.
Half day. Sponsor branding, lead capture and same day galleries available for activations. Full days and multi day conferences quoted on request.
Worth putting next to the rest of the budget. Most couples set aside a few dollars a head for favors, and most favors are in a bin by Sunday. This is roughly that same line, except what people carry out is a photograph of themselves, taken properly, that tends to end up on a fridge for about a decade.
Ten by twelve feet, on level ground, indoors or fully covered. Somewhere guests walk past naturally works far better than a quiet corner.
Two standard outlets within about twenty five feet. We bring everything else.
Cocktail hour into the first part of the reception is the sweet spot. People are dressed, fed, and not yet dancing.
Two to three minutes from stepping in to holding the print.
Yes. Everything comes to you in one gallery, and we can add instant delivery by text on the night.
No. We coordinate with them beforehand, we work in one fixed spot, and we never shoot your coverage.
Yes. Anything within forty miles of the Loop is included, and we go further for a travel fee.
Saturdays in wedding season go first. Fridays and Sundays are easier to get and cost less.
Tell us about the day. We reply the same day, with a real number rather than a brochure.
